2015 Audi Q7 Officially Revealed; Details Out

We brought you the first pictures of the Q7 and now Audi has taken the wraps off the second generation Q7. The Q7 is billed as being the lightest model in its class as it tips the scales at just 1995kg. This makes it approximately 325 kg lighter than its predecessor.
The weight loss is all thanks to a lightweight chassis which makes extensive use of high-strength steel and aluminum. A 71 kg diet was achieved by implementing a multi-material body design including fully aluminum doors which has shaved off 24 kg.
There is a change in dimensions too as the new Q7 is 37mm shorter and 15mm narrower while the height has remained just about the same. However, getting smaller has made the all-new Audi Q7 more spacious on the inside where there's an extra 21mm between the first and second rows of seats and an additional 41mm at the front & 23mm at the rear when it comes to headroom.
Inside the new Q7 gets the Audi virtual cockpit seen on the third-gen TT and there's also the latest implementation of the MMI infotainment system with a bigger touchpad. The dashboard is not less cluttered while Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support will be available. The flagship SUV will be offered with either a Bose sound system with 3D sound or a more expensive Bang & Olufsen Advanced Audio System with 3D sound and 23 speakers packing 1,920 watts of power.

The optional kit will include one or two 10.1-inch tablets which will come powered by an Nvidia Tegra 4 processor and featuring a full HD camera, 32GB of internal storage as well as Bluetooth, NFC and LTE connectivity.
But, let's talk about the engine now. The Q7 will come with the 3.0 TDI rated at 272bhp and 600 Nm which takes it from 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds before topping out at 234 km/h. It consumes just 5.7 litres / 100 km. There is also a less powerful 3.0 TDI with 218bhp on offer.
Moving on to the petrol engines, the Q7 will receive the 3.0 TFSI with 333bhp but we think it will cater to the European markets and India will get the 2.0 TFSI which is good enough for 252bhp and develops 370Nm of torque.

Of course there is also the e-tron quattro plug-in hybrid model on offer which has a combined output of 373bhp and 700 Nm. This will be Audi's first ever plug-in hybrid diesel and has a fuel consumption of just 1.7 liters / 100 km.
The Q7 will enter the Indian markets next year and the people at Audi promise that it will be quite the car in its segment.
