Hyundai Verna Facelift Launched in Russia; Might Come to India As Well

While India is yet to receive the updated Hyundai Verna, the one in Russia aka 'Solaris' has received a mid-life makeover. The Russian version of the mid-sized sedan now features the Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy, which makes it look similar to the Sonata.
The cosmetic changes introduced on the facelift seem to have been inspiration by the 'Verna RB Concept'; it now gets Genesis inspired larger headlamps, redesigned bumper, new fog lamps, dual-slat chrome grille and a bigger airdam.

The rear profile of the car doesn't see any major changes, except the new LEDs and new reflectors on the bumper. The interiors of the car remain unchanged.
Talking about India, Hyundai recently updated the car with projector headlamps, daytime running lights and redesigned alloy wheels. However, the new-generation Honda City quickly surpassed the Verna's sales to become the segment-leader, and continues to sell almost double the units than that of the Verna. So, considering Hyundai's loss to the new City and the fact that the Nissan Sunny and Ford Fiesta have received major makeovers, it is important that Hyundai brings the updated model to India too.
We expect Hyundai to launch the updated Verna in India during fourth quarter of the current calender year.
