Toyota sells 1 millionth car in India

Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold its one millionth vehicle through its authorized dealer, Nippon Toyota in Cochin. The Toyota Etios held the honour of being the one millionth car and was handed over to a customer during a ceremony held at the dealership.
It was 1997 that Toyota came to India and since then it has been quite a journey for the Japanese car manufacturer. With new products and increasingly focusing on India-centric models, Toyota has been able to woo a lot of customers their way.
Mr. N. Raja, Senior Vice President, TKM said, "The sale of Toyota's one millionth car in India marks a very important milestone for us. Since its inception, Toyota has been present in the MPV/SUV segment in India and we have been market leaders ever since in these segments. It is only in 2011 that we forayed into the mass segment with the Etios & Liva and still have been able to realize this milestone in such a short duration."
Futhermore, Toyota also announced a special scheme for the month of March 2014. Customers can either avail benefits of upto Rs. 40,000 or choose from finance schemes (low rate of interest / 100% on road funding) through its subsidiary finance arm.
