2014 Volkswagen Vento Facelift Launched in India at Rs. 7.44 Lakh

The festive season has arrived in India and in much style. The latest car to add its name to the list of this year's festive season launches is the Volkswagen Vento Facelift. Launched with a starting price of Rs 7.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the most important change on the facelift is the addition of the new 1.5-litre diesel engine, the stripped down version of the old 1.6-litre diesel motor. Just so you know, the same motor also powers the Volkswagen Polo.
As far as transmission is concerned, with the addition of the 7-speed DSG unit, the Vento has now become the second automatic diesel in the segment after the Hyundai Verna.
Other than the addition of the new engine, the Vento facelift also sports a handful of cosmetic changes, including new head-lamps, bumper, and new 15-inch alloys. Whereas, the rear also gets a modified bumper and tail-lights. Inside, the new Vento gets a flat-bottomed three-spoke steering wheel, quite like the one found on the Polo, piano-black finish and audio and telephony controls among other provisions.
Here are the prices and performance figures of the Volkswagen Vento Facelift:
1. Vento 1.6L MPI (Manual): 103.56bhp, 153Nm; Price: Rs 7.44 lakh - Rs 8.87 lakh
2. Vento 1.2L TSI (7-speed DSG): 103.56bhp, 175Nm; Price: Rs 9.35 - Rs 9.92 lakh
3. Vento 1.5L TDI (Manual): 103.56bhp, 250Nm; Price: Rs 8.57 lakh - Rs 9.90 lakh
4. Vento 1.5L TDI (7-speed DSG): 103.56bhp, 250Nm; Price: Rs 10.49 - Rs 10.94 lakh
