Volkswagen recently showcased the Virtus sedan in Brazil, and this is the car that will replace the Polo sedan in many of its international markets. It's a car that we have been looking forward to seeing it considering that the company just recently took the wraps off the new generation Polo hatchback and we got you all the details of the new car. The Virtus, picks up from the hatchback and though the car is specific to the South American market for the time being, we wonder if the company will ever bring it to India. However, we have a lot of interest in this car and that's because India has the Vento and the Ameo, both of which have garnered their share of success in the Indian market.

Here's All You Need To Know About The Volkswagen Virtus Sedan
- Set to replace the Polo sedan (Vento) in many international markets, the Volkswagen Virtus sedan is based on the sixth generation Polo hatchback which is based on the latest MQB A0 flexible platform.
- The Virtus sedan's wheelbase measures 2,650mm, which is 80mm more than that of the Polo.
- The Virtus sedan shares its front styling and front doors with the Polo hatchback. The rear doors are slightly larger and that's because of the increase in wheelbase. It gets a sloping roofline and a boot design borrowed from the recently revealed Areteon sedan. At the rear are stylish wraparound tail-lamps, again similar to those on the Areteon.

- Volkswagen has given the Virtus sedan a generous amount of bootspace as well, 521 litres of it.
- The cabin looks similar to that of the Polo hatch and it gets the high-tech dashboard with dual digital screens that we've seen on the hatch.
- The Virtus sedan will be available with two engines - a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine delivering 116bhp and 162Nm of peak torque, and a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbo-petrol producing 126bhp and 200Nm of torque. The 1.6 engine is mated to a five-speed automatic, while the turbo-petrol is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission.
