2022 Audi Q3 Teased Ahead Of India Launch

- Audi India will most likely launch the new Audi Q3 in September.
- The 2022 Audi Q3 has been on sale in the European markets since 2019.
- The 2022 Audi Q3 will be a single petrol engine offering.
After the introduction of the 2022 Audi A8 L luxury sedan last month, Audi India is set to launch its next big product, the 2022 Audi Q3 premium compact SUV, with a tentative launch scheduled in September 2022. The 2022 Audi Q3 has been on sale in the European markets since 2019 but comes to India only now due to the delay with the pandemic. Nevertheless, the 2022 Audi Q3 will replace the Audi Q2 premium crossover in the company’s India portfolio as a single petrol engine offering with refreshed exterior styling along with an updated cabin and features.

The second-generation Audi Q3 looks much sportier than its predecessor thanks to the striking Singleframe in octagon design divided up by vertical bars, along with the large air inlets. The sleek Matrix LED headlights run inwards with their wedge shape. The profile balances the exterior design with the symmetrical lighting graphics of the headlights and rear lights. The contours draw their inspiration from Audi’s Quattro DNA and make the SUV seem even wider. The long roof edge spoiler flanks the rear window at the side, with a steeply raked C pillar.

The interior of the 2022 Audi Q3 consists of a driver-focussed cockpit with three-dimensionally styled elements. Its central element is the MMI touch display with its high-gloss black glass-look surround, while the air cons controls are positioned underneath and tilted 10 degrees toward the driver. All displays, buttons, and controls are located ergonomically. The seats provide a sporty position while the steering wheel is steeply angled accordingly. The 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster is a standard fitment featuring the MMI navigation plus. There is also a 10.1-inch touch display in the middle of the dashboard. As an option, the driver can choose the larger Audi virtual cockpit plus with three different views, including a new, particularly sporty display.

The 2022 Audi Q3 premium compact SUV will feature a 2.0-litre petrol engine in the Q3 40 TFSI derivative that develops 187 bhp and 320 Nm, paired to a 7-speed S Tronic and Quattro drive system. It does the 0-100 kmph sprint in 7.3 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 222 kmph. Once launched, the 2022 Audi Q3 will rival the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA, and Volvo XC40 in the Indian market.
