Auto Sales December 2021: Honda Car India Sees 15% MoM Growth In Sales

Honda Cars India, registered monthly domestic sales of 7,973 units in December 2021. The export numbers for HCIL stood at 1,165 units in December 2021. The company had registered 8,638 units in domestic sales and 713 units of export in December 2020, so while domestic sales went down by 7.7 per cent. However, if you compare December 2021 sales to November 2021 then there's a growth of 15.48 per cent which shows a healthy growth for the company and also pushes the growth in sales during the Calendar Year 2021 to 26 per cent.

The company sold 89,152 units during the calendar year 2021 (January - December). The company had registered domestic sales of 70,593 units in calendar year 2020 amidst operational restrictions to combat the COVID-19 health crisis.

Honda's exports grew by 600 per cent with 16,340 units during CY'2021 against 2,334 units exported in CY'2020

With its reinforced export strategy from India by addition of left hand drive destinations for 5th Gen Honda City, HCIL exports grew by 600 per cent with 16,340 units during CY'2021 against 2,334 units exported in CY'2020.

Yuichi Murata, Director, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd said, "The addition of new export destinations for Honda City to left hand drive markets boosted our exports significantly last year." "Our December despatches were in line with our production output which continued to be impacted by global chip shortage."
