Bugatti reveals the Grand Sport Vitesse 'Black Bess' Edition

Here we are again. Another Motorshow, another special edition and this time Bugatti has unveiled the fifth special edition Veyron part of its "Legends" series based on the Grand Sport Vitesse.
This special edition Veyron pays tribute to the Type 18 "Black Bess" which Bugatti describes as being "one of the first ever street legal super sports cars." The Type 18 was powered by an inline-four 5.0-litre engine delivering more than 99bhp and capable of topping out at 161km/h.
The Type 18 Black Bess was driven in several races by company founder Ettore Bugatti who managed to take the win in the 1912 Mont Ventoux hill climb. The penultimate edition of the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse "Legends" model will be limited just like the others to three units. The car features a carbon fibre body painted in black with gold accents. Inside too you get to see light beige upholstery and steering wheel receives the red Crimson leather.

The dash panel, dashboard, cowl panel and door trim panel were covered in Havanna leather and the door panels feature the Type 18 "Black Bess" and the Morane Saulnier Type H, an airplane which belonged to Roland Garros who was one of the seven people who bought the Black Bess.
Bugatti will showcase the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Black Bess at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. It is likely that the final edition in this series will be showcased at the Paris Motorshow in October thus completing the Legend series.
