CV Sales August 2021: Ashok Leyland Registers 48 Per Cent Y-o-Y Growth

Home-grown commercial vehicle manufacture, Ashok Leyland has released the sales numbers for the month of August 2021, during which the company's total volumes stood at 9,360 units. Compared to the 6,325 vehicles sold during the same month last year, the commercial vehicle manufacturer registered a growth of 48 per cent. At the same time, compared to July 2021, when its total sales stood at 8,650 units, the company has witnessed an 8.2 per cent Month-on-Month (M-o-M) growth in August 2021.

Ashok Leyland witnessed an M-o-M growth of over 8 per cent compared to 8,650 vehicles sold in July 2021
In the domestic market, Ashok Leyland's total sales stood at 8,400 units, which is a growth of 44 per cent compared to the 5,824 vehicles that were sold in August 2020. At the same time, compared to the 8,129 vehicles sold in July 2021, Ashok Leyland witnessed an M-o-M growth of over 3 per cent.
In comparison, Ashok Leyland saw a decent rise in exports last month, at 960 units, which is a 91.6 per cent growth compared to 501 units exported in August 2021. On the other hand, compared to 521 units exported in July 2021, the commercial vehicle manufacturer registered a considerable 84 per cent M-O-M growth last month.

Ashok Leyland's total sales of Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV), including trucks and buses, stood at 4,632 units in August 2021. That's a 79 per cent growth compared to the 2,589 units sold during the same month in 2020. Ashok Leyland's light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment, on the other hand, saw a massive 27 per cent growth last month, at 4,728 units, as against 3,736 units sold in August 2020.
