F1: BWT Remains Aston Martin Sponsor After Racing Point Rebranding

- BWT will get subtle shades of pink in the Aston Martin livery
- Before Aston Martin, the former Racing Point team had a pink livery
- BWT also looked at Williams and Haas as potential replacements
When Racing Point announced that it would be rebranding to Aston Martin, many wondered what the livery of the new project was as its lead sponsor BWT had a requirement of everything being in pink. The answer to that came when Aston Martin F1 announced IT giant Cognizant as its lead sponsor, but it turns out that BWT will also have a presence on the new Aston Martin project with some shades of pink seeping onto a car that's predominantly going to have the classic British green as its main colour.

Aston Martin F1 also gets the services of 4-time world champion Sebastian Vettel
"I am proud to continue supporting this wonderful team of people and to start a new chapter with Aston Martin's return to Formula 1. Having seen the team enjoy such a strong 2020 season, we believe the years ahead are full of great promise and we want to continue supporting this team's journey towards the front of the grid," said BWT CEO Andreas WeiBenbacher.
"While the look and feel of the new team to be launched on Wednesday 3rd March will be very different, featuring an all-new base colour, today's news ensures that subtle BWT brand accents, as well as BWT brand logos, will remain a feature of the all-new Aston Martin team livery," said Aston Martin in a statement.

Sebastian Vettel's presence will also add to the brand value of the sponsorship for the team
BWT was looking to become the title sponsor for the Williams F1 team and Haas F1 team, Williams F1 was reportedly in pole position but that may not have been an option as Renault is in discussions to become an engine supplier and make it the Alpine B team. Initially, in 2017, BWT wanted to sponsor the Mercedes team but the German giant didn't want to change its colours which is when it opted to sponsor the Force India team which transformed to Racing Point F1 in 2018 and now is Aston Martin Cognizant F1.
The team also gets the services of Sebastian Vettel who won 4-world titles between 2010-2013 and was the main rival to Lewis Hamilton between 2015-2018. It also helps that Lance Stroll already has a relationship with BWT as a brand.
