F1: Daniel Ricciardo Triumphs at Spa as Mercedes Drivers Clash

Daniel Ricciardo took back-to-back victories by winning the Belgian Grand Prix leaving Mercedes with plenty to worry about. Hamilton took the lead at the start with Rosberg attacking in to Les Combes on lap two.
Rosberg knew that there was no way around the outside to take Hamilton and so ducked behind his teammate Hamilton and managed to clip his left rear tyre. Thanks to this, Hamilton suffered a puncture and Rosberg managed to damage his front wing.
Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo, took advantage of this and seeing Hamilton dropping to the back of the pack, he moved in to P2 ahead of team-mate Sebastian Vettel. Rosberg had to pit to change his front wing and Ricciardo lead the race from there to the finish.
Hamilton's day ended six laps from the end when he finally retired from 16th place having repeatedly asked the team to call him in to save the engine. It was Bottas who took the final spot on the podium, however, Rosberg was booed on the podium post-race. Bottas made a late pass on Kimi Raikkonen who secured his best result of the season so far with fourth.
Sebastian Vettel, who started third on the grid had to be satisfied with fifth after overtaking Kevin Magnussen, Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso in the closing laps. Magnussen defended well both against Alonso and team mate Button to stake claim to sixth place. However, he was subject to investigation and was penalized 20 seconds.
This penalty gave Sergio Perez and Daniil Kvyat a boost in their places as well. There was drama even before the start of the race as problems for Alonso saw Ferrari mechanics still on the grid working on his car on the formation lap. He was handed a five second stop/go penalty.
The result allows Rosberg to open up a 29-point lead over his team-mate in the championship, with Ricciardo now just 35 points behind Hamilton after back-to-back victories. It's still all to play for and do not count Red Bull out just yet!
