Hero MotoCorp Hands Over 70 Two-Wheelers To Haryana Government For Front-Line Health Workers

- Hero has launched a new project Corona Warriors on Wheels in Haryana
- Hero has handed over 50 units of Xtreme 160R and 20 units of Destini 125
- They will be used by the front-line health workers for COVID-related work
Hero MotoCorp has announced handing over 70 motorcycles and scooters to the Haryana Government, to be given to front-line healthcare workers. The two-wheeler manufacture has launched a new project - 'Corona Warriors On Wheels,' in association with the Health Department of the State of Haryana. As part of the programme, the company handed over 50 units of Hero Xtreme 160R motorcycle and 20 units of the Destini 125 scooter to the Director-General of Health Services, Haryana. This new initiative was carried out under Hero MotoCorp's CSR platform Hero WeCare.
Hero MotoCorp says that all these vehicles will be allocated to the health workers including doctors and medical staff across the state for community service they offered in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. The two-wheelers will be used by the front-line health workers for COVID-19 related work. The company says that it will help them provide door-to-door medical services like - testing, sanitisation, counselling, and mobile vaccination across the city.

Receiving the vehicles, Veena Singh, MD, Director General Health Services, Haryana said, "These motorcycles and scooters will prove to be an advantage in our fight against COVID-19 and we are grateful to Hero MotoCorp for extending their support to us. This initiative will go a long way in our fight to stop COVID-19 across the state and widen the scope of our relief activities for the affected people in the district."

The initiative is in continuation to our ongoing efforts to further accelerate the COVID-19 relief measures in Haryana. I am sure, these Hero motorcycles and scooters will support the "Corona Heroes" by providing convenient mobility solutions."

Hero MotoCorp, which has one of its manufacturing facilities in Haryana, has extended several other support initiatives to the State in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. So far, the company has donated six specially designed First Responder Vehicles (FRVs) to various health departments. Furthermore, in association with the Gurugram district administration, the company has helped set up a fully-equipped 100-bed COVID centre. The company also contributed oxygen cylinders for emergency medical use to a few hospitals in Haryana and has been donating PPE Kits to the health authorities in various states for health workers.
