Hero MotoCorp Sells Over 3 Lakh Two-Wheelers On Dhanteras

- Hero is the only two-wheeler company to sell so many bikes in one day
- Hero MotoCorp is the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer
- In September 2017, Hero sold over 7 lakh two-wheelers
Hero MotoCorp, the country's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, sold a mammoth three lakh motorcycles and scooters in a single day, the highest-ever by any company across the globe. The blockbuster sales for Hero came on Dhanteras, two days before Diwali, when Indian consumers consider it an auspicious occasion for buying gold or silver articles and even utensils. Dhanteras also marks heavy purchases of home appliances and automobiles. It is believed by Hindus that acquiring new wealth on this day in the form of metals, or automobiles is a sign of good luck.
"This festive season has been a blockbuster for Hero MotoCorp. The highest-ever single day retail sales of well over three lakh units on Dhanteras comes on the back of what has been a season of new global records for Hero. We sold a record 7-lakh units in September, the highest ever in monthly sales by any company and also sold over two million units in the second Quarter," a senior Hero MotoCorp official said.

It sold 20,22,805 units of two-wheelers in the second quarter, growing by 11% over the large volume of the corresponding quarter in the previous fiscal. In September 2017, it became the only two-wheeler company to sell over 7 lakh two-wheelers in a month.
