Honda City - 2015 CNB Viewers' Choice Award Nominee
One cannot forget the year the City first came to India. It was 1998 and it was the third generation of the City that made it here. Believe it or not, the City was first a subcompact car. The popularity of the car in India grew two folds and two generations of the car followed. It was the ideal sedan for the Indian consumer, till petrol prices started hitting the roof and the demand for diesel cars climbed.
The City suffered during this time and Honda knew that it was time for a change. Honda finally introduced the City in the diesel avatar this year and the fourth generation of the car has been doing Honda good. The 1.5-litre iDtec diesel engine sees the car improving in the departments of mileage and performance.
The City has been consistently beating the likes of the Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz when it comes to sales this year. The City had always had a fan following in India and the new one has helped Honda win some more hearts.
