Honda SP 125: Top 5 Rivals

- The 125 cc motorcycle segment is quite stacked
- Only four players in the 125 cc space - Bajaj, Hero, HMSI and KTM
- Honda SP 125 is a premium 125 cc commuter motorcycle
The 125 cc segment is not only stacked with many options but is also one of biggest motorcycle segments in terms of sales. Broadly, it can be divided into three categories - standard commuter motorcycles, premium commuter motorcycles and sporty 125 cc commuters. The Honda SP 125 is a premium 125 cc commuter from HMSI. It replaces the CB Shine SP in Honda's commuter bike line-up. The Honda SP 125 uses a new 125 cc, fuel-injected engine with what Honda calls the Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) technology. The engine puts out 10.72 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 10.9 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. It gets different colours and graphics as well. Here's a look at the top 5 rivals of the Honda SP 125. It is priced from Rs. 78,381 to Rs. 82,677 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

Enter Hero Glamour Xtec! Essentially, it is a more tech laden variant of the Glamour and is positioned as the top-spec model in the range as well. The Hero Glamour Xtec gets a bunch of segment first features as well. The Glamour Xtec continues to get the same BS6 compliant 124.7 cc single-cylinder motor which makes 10.7 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 10.6 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The motorcycle gets Hero's patented i3s (idle start-stop system) as standard fitment. The engine is paired to a 5-speed gearbox.
