Honda X-ADV Adventure Scooter Production Confirmed; Debut At 2016 EICMA

- The Honda X-ADV is based on the City Adventure Concept
- Honda has been teasing the adventure scooter in a series of videos
- Honda does not have plans to introduce the X-ADV in India anytime soon
Honda has been teasing the adventure scooter in a series of videos and the model certainly seems exciting, capable of going and off roads. Honda says the X-ADV combines the spirit of adventure with all-round performance, practicality and comfort for urban commuting and weekend escapes.
As part of the features list, the Honda X-ADV includes an upright riding position for high visibility and long travel suspension to handle the rough road surfaces. In addition, the model will come with a 5-stage adjustable windscreen and storage space for an off-road style helmet. Furthermore, the adventure scooter will come with dual sport tyres, LED headlights with DRLs, adjustable seat and much more.

2017 Honda X-ADV
While specifications haven't been confirmed yet, it is possible that a 750cc parallel twin engine will power the Honda X-ADV. Nevertheless, Honda has confirmed its dual-clutch transmission (DCT) will feature on the X-ADV and first debuted on the VFR1200F. Incidentally, the same transmission will be available on the Africa Twin 1000 when it goes on sale in India next year. Full technical specifications will be available at EICMA.
Furthermore, it is likely that the X-ADV will share space with the production ready version of the CX-02 concept that was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. While Honda India was involved in the development, there was little said about the future model it spawns. Nevertheless, reports now suggest that the CX-02 concept could eventually turn out to be the new CB500X adventure tourer. The design for the middle-weight model has been patented in Europe and closely resembles the concept. That said, more details on the same will be available towards the end of this year.
