Hyundai i20 Helps HMIL Register 9.7% Growth in Domestic Sales - February 2015

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), the country's second largest carmaker, registered a 2.4 per cent year-on-year rise in February 2015. As against February 2014's 46505 (Domestic + Exports), Hyundai managed to sell a total of 47,612 units in February 2015. The new Hyundai i20, once again, topped Hyundai's sales chart at 10,264 units.
The company inform that it recorded an impressive 9.7 per cent growth in domestic sales at 37,305 units, whereas the exports saw a 17.5 per cent fall at 10,307 units.
Commenting on the February sales Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. VP- Sales and Marketing, HMIL said, "Hyundai volumes of 37,305 units registered a growth of 9.7% over last year on the strength of strong performance of Elite i20 with 10,264 units. The growth in additional & repeat buyers is higher than that of first time buyers. Reduction in interest rates could bring in the thrust to break the threshold of low growth & initiate the double digit growth".
