Hyundai ix25 and i20 Cross Prices Will Surprise the Market

In an earlier story, we told you about Hyundai's plans of launching a range of new and facelifted products in 2015. Of the five products that Hyundai is planning to launch, two will be all new - the i20 Cross and ix25 compact SUV- with which the company will enter the growing crossover and compact SUV segments. Now a fresh report published in Financial Express claims that both the products will be priced quite aggressively. To make it possible the company is aiming to achieve over 90% localisation level for both the products.
"Whenever we launch a product, we always target above 90% localisation. The same will be for our compact SUV. We are fairly confident that we will surprise the market with our prices.", said Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. Vice President - Sales & Marketing at Hyundai Motor India Ltd.

Based on the new i20, the i20 Cross will share its styling, components and underpinnings with the former. Though to give it a more rugged look, the company will offer bigger alloy wheels, additional body cladding all over the body and few other changes at the front and rear. The company will also increase its ground clearance. The crossover will also get the same engine options - 1.2-litre Kappa2 petrol and 1.4-litre CRDi diesel - that also power the premium hatchback.
The ix25 is the other product that Hyundai will bring in the market, which will take on Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and likes. First unveiled at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, the production-ready version of the vehicle was recently showcased at the 2014 Guangzhou Auto Show.

Sharing its design cues with the Santa Fe, the ix25 is based on Hyundai's 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0' design philosophy. With 4270mm length, 1780mm width, 1630mm height and 2590mm wheelbase, the ix25 will be a spacious 5-seater compact SUV. The engine option on offer could be 1.4-litre VTVT petrol, 1.4-litre CRDi diesel and 1.6-litre CRDi diesel.
