Hyundai Teases the G90 - the First Sedan Under Its Genesis Brand

Hyundai has released a pair of renderings of the first car to be made under the Genesis brand, the G90, just a week after announcing that Genesis would be its luxury vehicle offshoot. The G90 will be officially launched in South Korea in early December, 2015 and will initially go on sale only in the US, China, and, of course, in South Korea. Incidentally, it will be called the EQ900 in Korea.
The G90 will be the new brand's flagship and would represent the best of what Genesis has to offer. "The G90 sits at the pinnacle of the Genesis brand and demonstrates how we apply our human-centered values to give our customer true satisfaction in every aspect of the vehicle ownership experience," said Woong-Chul Yang, Hyundai's head of research and development, in a statement.
Based on the renderings, the car seems to be quite a looker with an aggressive front end and sharp lines which run the entire length of the body.

There is no information about the engines that the G90 will be offered with, but it is expected to come with a 3.8-litre petrol engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The luxury sedan will be the first of six new models that Hyundai's sub-brand plans to release over the coming years, with the Genesis range said to include a smaller G70, an SUV, a crossover, and a coupe.
It remains to be seen whether Genesis will be launched in India in order to compete in the luxury segment against the likes of Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover, etc.
