- The Range Rover Velar will be launched in India before 2017 ends
- It will be launched in India with two diesel engine options
- The Velar is the fourth Range Rover model, globally
The Range Rover Velar will soon be launched in India and from what we hear; it should make its India debut before the year ends. The Velar was recently crash tested and has achieved a five-star rating from Euro New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP). The SUV scored 93 per cent for adult occupant protection, 85 per cent for child occupant protection and 74 per cent for pedestrian protection. As far as the rating for safety assist systems is concerned, the Velar scored 72 per cent. The Velar gets 9 air bags along with auto emergency braking with pedestrian detection, which resulted in the high pedestrian safety rating. The company said that the idea was to combine strong crash protection and advanced active safety systems on the Velar, making it one of the safest SUVs in the segment.
