Ethanol blending is the process of blending ethyl alcohol, which is at least 99 per cent pure and is derived from agricultural products, exclusively with petrol. Apart from reduced carbon emissions, this can also help increase energy security, self-reliance, better use of damaged food grains, increased farmers' incomes, and greater investment opportunities.
