Vintage cars are the storytellers of a bygone era. Just like fashion, the appearance of a car showed the aesthetics of its time. While, the technology of the car mirrored the progress of man. Owning one of these cars was considered a luxury then and it is considered a prized possession in today as well. Many Indian celebs are motor enthusiasts and have vintage cars in collection, some of which are extremely rare. Here are a few celebs who own vintage cards you'll want to drive at least once in your life:

Bollywood's Big B owns a rare Ford Prefect in sunshine yellow colour. The car was introduced in UK in 1938 and remained in production until 1961. The upgraded model of the car featured the three-box structure over its previous sit-up-and-beg structure which made it a rare possession back then. The car holds special value to the actor because during his childhood, the Prefect was the first family car owned by the Bachchans in the 1950s, but was later sold. This model was gifted to Big B by a friend who heard about actor´s memories with the car.

MS Dhoni's car collection is as spectacular as his game. Recently, when Dhoni announced his retirement, he also gifted himself a rare set of wheels- a fiery red Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, that looks to be from the 2nd generation, manufactured in the 70s. Dhoni seems to have a fondness for American exotic cars because he also has a Hummer H2 and a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk in his garage.
Randeep Hooda- Willy's Jeep

Where Indian celebs go for luxury cars and cruisers, Randeep got his hands on a world war 2 vintage Willy's Jeep. The bare-boned Willy's Jeep holds nostalgic memories for many Indians. Willy´s came to India as a part of USA´s Lend Lease program to the British during world war 2. Over 2000 jeeps were despatched to Burma in 1943 to help with the world war hostilities there. From there, the jeeps were used to patrol the rugged terrain of north-east India. After the war, the jeeps were sold to Indians who could buy them. Around that time, Mahindra & Mahindra decided to collaborate with Willy´s Overland to start manufacturing these jeeps locally. The one that Hooda purchased seems to be the original Willys MB that was imported to India during the war.

Jackie Shroff is not known for his motor collection but one of the rare gems in his garage, the SS Jaguar 100 is not one to miss. The car spoke of luxury and class at the time it was introduced in the market and still carries the same vibe. The design, the removable roof and the brand name associated with the car give it the feel of a class vehicle even in the present day.
Dharmendra's Fiat 1100

Unlike other Indian celebs, the Fiat 11000 in Dharmendra's garage is the first car he ever owned. The car was built to be a city cruiser and was a quite successful due to its utility and functionality. Although Dharmendra's car is out of commission, it's beauty is still intact and speaks of an era that had a rare charm of its own.
Vintage cars may not be able to run on the roads like they used to but the joy of owning one is unparalleled. Tell us in the comments about your favourite vintage cars. Which of the cars owned by these Indian celebs would you like to drive?
