Jeremy Clarkson Launches Scathing Attack On Lewis Hamilton

- Clarkson was critical of Hamilton's claims of Alonso driving unfairly
- He said that Hamilton's claims of long COVID were also dubious
- Hamilton has appeared on BBC Top Gear many times before
Former Top Gear host and current Grand Tour host Jeremy Clarkson has launched yet another scathing attack on 7-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton. Clarkson was critical of Hamilton's claims against Fernando Alonso when the Spaniard was defending masterfully against the Briton at the Hungarian GP. Clarkson also was scathing stating that Hamilton's claims of long COVID were meant to detract attention from Esteban Ocon who won his maiden F1 race at the Hungaroring.

Lewis Hamilton claimed long COVID after the Hungarian GP
In his regular column for the Sun, the world-renowned former host of the iconic Top Gear TV show on BBC wrote, "Lewis Hamilton needs a smacked bottom. He spent most of last week's thrilling race on the radio, claiming the chap in front of him Fernando Alonso was cheating. Which he wasn't. And then when Lewis finishes in third place, he flopped about on the podium claiming he has 'long Covid', which seems to me to be another way of saying: 'Please ignore Esteban Ocon, the rookie who just beat me. I'm the real hero and don't you forget that."
"Well I'm sorry Lewis, but if you behave like that, you aren't. Oh, and pay your taxes," he added eluding to the fact the richest F1 driver on the grid doesn't stay in the UK but in Monaco to avoid paying hefty taxes. Clarkson has posted a series of tweets criticising Hamilton since the seminal crash between Max Verstappen and Hamilton which has turned the tide in the F1 world championship.
In Hamilton's defence, he did congratulate the Esteban Ocon and he was quite happy for him after the race. In fact, Hamilton also expressed his disappointment when Vettel was disqualified from the race after it was discovered his car didn't have enough fuel.
