Kapil Sharma is the Salesman for Honda Mobilio

Honda Cars India is going all out to make its upcoming compact MPV - the Mobilio - a big hit in the Indian market. First unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, the Mobilio is undoubtedly the most anticipated vehicle of the year and will take on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga upon its launch. The company has undertaken several marketing initiatives to promote the vehicle well before its final launch. Honda has put up the MPV for display at different shopping malls across India, and now its India's famous stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma's turn to turn the heat up for the Mobilio via a TV commercial.
In the 2 minute 30 second ad, Kapil Sharma is seen as a salesman, who woos prospective customers with his wit and humour. Though what's interesting about the ad is the fact that the ad makers let Kapil do what he does the best - sly innuendoes, which makes the ad entertaining and also gets the message across to the audience. Since Kapil Sharma is quite a popular name among Indian families, and Mobilio is a family car, this association might help Honda create the connect it is looking for.

The stage is set for this 7-seater MPV's arrival in a few weeks, which is powered by two extremely frugal engines. Offered with the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines, the Mobilio will be the most fuel efficient petrol and diesel car in its league. Both the engines also power the new-generation Honda City.
We expect the Mobilio to be accompanied by a price tag that in the range of Rs 7-9 lakh (ex-showroom).
