Maruti Suzuki Announces Service Campaign For Baleno Customers

- The service campaign will undertake 3757 units of the Baleno.
- Maruti will update the software free of cost.
- Some units of the 2019 Baleno facelift may also be affected.
Maruti Suzuki India has announced a service campaign for its Baleno customers to undertake a software update for the actuator assembly ABS. The service campaign will undertake 3757 units of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno manufactured between December 6, 2018 and February 14, 2019. While the service campaign would predominantly include units of the pre-facelift model, some units of the 2019 Baleno are also likely to be affected given that it was launched on January 28, 2019. Maruti Suzuki will update/modify the software free of cost.

The company has specifically said that it's a service campaign and not a recall since there are no safety issues in the car. The statement issued by the company reads, "Service campaigns are undertaken globally by automobile companies to rectify faults that may cause inconvenience to customers. This is not a "recall" as there is no safety concern involved. Starting 21st February 2019 owners of the affected vehicles included in this "Service Campaign" will be contacted by Maruti Suzuki dealers for inspection and updating the modified software in Actuator Assembly ABS, free of cost."

The owners of the vehicles would be required to fill in the chassis number starting with MA3 or MBH followed by the 14 digits alpha-numeric number on the computer screen. The chassis number could be found embossed on the vehicle ID plate (on the driver door well) and in the vehicle invoice or registration card.
