New Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Gets Nearly 10000 Bookings In One Week

- The new Ertiga will be sold through nearly 2200 Maruti Arena Dealerships
- New Ertiga gets a petrol and a diesel engine, CNG to be launched later
- New Ertiga gets an automatic option with the petrol engine
The all-new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 7.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Bookings for Ertiga opened last week at all Maruti Suzuki Arena showrooms across the country, and considering the fact that the Ertiga is a popular car in its segment, bookings for the MPV have reached almost 10000 units! According to several dealers across India that carandbike spoke to, waiting periods for the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga stretch to between 2-3 months depending on variants and colour options. The booking amount for the new 2018 Ertiga was Rs 11,000 and dealers say that there is a clear skew towards the petrol engine variants as compared to the diesel options.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is longer, wider and taller however has the same wheelbase.Speaking to NDTV carandbike at the launch of the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, R S Kalsi, Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki said, "Well, we started bookings about a week ago, and already in less than a weeks time we have close to 10000 bookings. And I'm sure that with the stylish model we have launched, which is much better on performance, comfort and space, once the customers see the car and with the aggressive pricing that we have, the pace of the bookings is going to increase further."

The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is a larger car as compared to its predecessor - longer, wider and taller although the wheelbase has remained the same. The new Ertiga is now more spacious on the inside and more importantly, looks much much better as compared to the first gen, which is one of the biggest draws for buyers. The new Ertiga gets a new 1.5-litre petrol engine along with a 1.3-litre diesel engine. The Petrol engine also gets an automatic 4-speed gearbox option.
