New Mercedes-Benz C-Class Launched; Priced at Rs 40.90 Lakh

The much-awaited 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class finally entered in India today. Priced at Rs 40.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new C-Class has been launched in only petrol model, the diesel model of the saloon will be rolled out in early 2015.
Based on Mercedes' new lightweight modular rear-drive MRA (Mercedes Rear-Drive Architecture) platform, the new-gen C-Class features a long bonnet merging into the twin-slat grille with the company's three-point star logo, low stance and short front overhangs. That said, the soft shoulder line emerging from LED head-lamps and flowing towards the door handles, daytime running light design, tail lamps, rear bumper, boot lid are quite similar to the previous model of the car.

Coming to the dimensions, the new C-Class is now 95mm longer and 40mm wider, whereas its height is reduced by 5mm. The sedan now measures 4686mm in length, 1810mm in width and 1442mm in height. Carrying a wheelbase of 2840mm, the car offers quite a spacious cabin. Adding to it, the boot space has also been increased by 5mm to 480-litres.
As mentioned before, the new-gen C-Class has been launched in only petrol model, the diesel version will be launched later. The petrol model of the car comes equipped with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine that is good for 181bhp and 300Nm. Transmitting power to the rear wheels of the new C-Class is a 7-speed automatic transmission (7G-TRONIC Plus).
