Over 42,000 Hyundai Venue SUVs Sold In 5 Months; Bags Over 75,000 Bookings

- Hyundai has sold more than 42,681 Venue SUVs between May-Sep 2019
- The Hyundai Venue has bagged over 75,000 bookings so far
- Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza was a close second, with 40,425 units
The Hyundai Venue has now become the country's top-selling utility vehicle based on the SUV's cumulative sales numbers for the last five months, which is now over 42,000 units. Between May and September 2019 Hyundai India sold 42,681 units of the Venue, and so far, the company has also received over 75,000 bookings for the new subcompact SUV. Interestingly, Hyundai says that about 50 per cent of the customers have shown interest in buying the variant with the BlueLink connected car technology, which is offered with the SX DCT and the top-end SX(O) trims. This certainly shows that the trend for connected SUVs is growing in India. What's also worth noting is that Kia is set to launch its Venue-rivaling subcompact SUV next year, and that will also be a connected SUV.
Compared to the Hyundai Venue, the Maruti Vitara Brezza and Mahindra XUV300 take the 2nd and 3rd spot with 40,425 and 19,370 units, respectively
In comparison, the Venue's closes rival, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza was a close second, with 40,425 units being sold between May and September 2019. While the Venue did surpass the Vitara Brezza in July and August sales, in May, June and September the Vitara Brezza continued to be ahead in monthly sales. The Mahindra XUV300, at the same time, came in third with 19,370 SUVs being sold during the same period. As for other players in the subcompact SUV space, in the last five months, the Tata Nexon and the Ford EcoSport's total sales accounted for 17,137 and 16,016 units, respectively.
