Romain Grosjean Doubles As Fireman At IndyCar As His Car Catches Fire

- Grosjean has had a great start to IndyCar
- He tried to extinguish the fire on his own car in Detroit
- He was removed by the fire marshals, when they arrived
From the fire into the frying pan, that's what former F1 driver Romain Grosjean must be thinking. Grosjean who joined IndyCar only this year joined from F1, wherein his last race, he was saved by the stewards and medics as his car caught fire. He ended up with burnt hands and seemingly his life was saved by the halo which protected his head from being smashed through the barrier. This time around again, Grosjean found himself in a car that caught fire but after exiting the vehicle, the Frenchmen rushed to a steward to get a fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire from his car in the Detroit street race.

The race in Detroit was a disaster for Grosjean where he was classified 23 in 24. Luckily, the marshals came to his aid before he could do it himself. Grosjean was finally taken away and dissuaded from attempting to defuse the fire in the car.

Grosjean has been off to a good in IndyCar where has also managed to finish in P2 for the Dale Coyne Racing team with Rick Ware Racing. His P2 came at the Indianapolis Motorspeed Way in May from pole position. He is proving to be vastly more competitive in IndyCar than F1 wherein the recent years he struggled at the back of the grid with the Haas F1 team. The race was won by another ex-F1 driver Marcus Ericsson.
