Skoda Kushaq Gets A Price Hike Of Rs. 29,000; Now Starts At Rs. 10.79 Lakh

- The Skoda Kushaq SUV is now priced from Rs. 10.79 lakh (ex-showroom)
- The base variant of the Kushaq has become dearer by Rs. 29,000
- The Skoda Kushaq is underpinned by the MQB-A0-IN platform.
Skoda Auto India has silently increased the price of the Kushaq base variant by Rs. 29,000. The compact SUV is now priced from Rs. 10.79 lakh (ex-showroom), according to the company's website. Expect from the base Active 1.0L TSI MT model, prices for the remaining variants remain unchanged. The SUV was launched in the country in June 2021 at an asking price of Rs. 10.50 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom India). Skoda offers the Kushaq SUV in seven variants across three trims - Active, Ambition and Style.

The SUV marked the Czech carmaker's entry into the competitive compact SUV segment that has received a decent response from the market, and the company had surpassed the 10,000 bookings milestone in September 2021. Keeping up with the demand, the company introduced six airbags and TPMS to Style AT 1.0L and 1.5L variants at an additional cost of Rs. 40,000. These features were missing on the variants at the time of launch.

The Skoda Kushaq is the first SUV to be introduced under the company's India 2.0 project. It is the first model from the automaker to be built on the India-specific MQB-A0 IN platform with over 95 per cent local content.

Under the hood, the Skoda Kushaq SUV is available with a choice of two petrol engines - a 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI. While the former makes 113 bhp and 175 Nm of peak torque, the latter belts out 148 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual gearbox along with optional 6-speed automatic transmission on the 1.0-Litre TSI, while the 1.5-litre TSI is offered with a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
