Spotted: Maruti Suzuki YBA's Production Model

Maruti Suzuki YBA (Vitara Brezza) was recently spotted in its production avatar. The sub-4m SUV that will debut in India at the Auto Expo 2016 in February, is reported to be underpinned by Maruti Suzuki Swift's platform and will also share engine options with the hatchback.

The spyshots of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki sub-compact SUV reveal a striking front fascia that comprises projector head-lamps with integrated LED daytime running lights and a honeycomb airdam. The side profile seems to take inspiration from the Suzuki iV-4 concept that which was presented at the 2014 Frankfurt Motor Show. Furthermore, the Maruti Suzuki YBA also gets gets 5-spoke, 16-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the Maruti Suzuki YBA gets an all-black interior with silver inserts, piano-black finish for the centre console, and a touchscreen SmartPlay entertainment system. With that being said, expect the sub-compact SUV to lift more interior equipment from the Swift hatchback.
As mentioned earlier, the Vitara Brezza is also likely to borrow engines from the Swift, which also shares its power units with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. While the a 1.2-litre K-Series VVT petrol engine develops 83bhp and 115Nm of maximum torque, the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel unit puts out 74bhp along with a peak torque of 190Nm. Both the units will come mated to a 5-speed manual, while the petrol engine is likely to get a CVT option too.
One must note, the Maruti Suzuki YBA sub-compact SUV will be the third car to be sold via the carmaker's premium dealership network, Nexa, after Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
