Tamo Racemo: All You Should Know

- Tamo Racemo sports car is expected to be launched in India in 2018
- The Racemo is powered by a 186 bhp 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron engine
- Tamo Racemo is a sub-4 metre 2-seater sports car
We first saw the Tamo Racemo at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show along with the Tata Nexon and the Tata Tigor. The Racemo is the first product from Tata Motors' all-new sub-brand Tamo, which is working on the company's future mobility solutions. The car will be built and retailed by the Tamo brand and we will get to see the car in India next year, possibly at the 2018 Auto Expo. With the new Racemo, Tata Motors has ventured into the segment of affordable sports cars. While we have already shared a lot of details about the Tamo Racemo, here are 8 things that you should know about this pocket rocket.
1. With a total length of 3835 mm, the Tamo Racemo is a sub-4 metre, 2-door, sports coupe that has been designed at Tata Motors' Design Studio in Turin, Italy. The car features design elements like the 'Humanity Line', and 'Diamond DLO' that showcase Tata Motors' DNA
2. Tata Motors has used a special composite multi-material structure called MOFlex in the construction of the Racemo's body parts. The company claims that "MOFlex is a structural technology that enables greater freedom in surface design, efficient large-scale part integration leading to modularity and faster time to market".
3. At Geneva, Tata Motors introduced two iterations of the Tamo Racemo - the standard road going sports coupe Racemo and a more sporty and track focused Racemo+.

The Tamo Racemo+ is a more track-focused machine
4. While the regular Racemo itself comes with a sporty design accentuated by muscular lines and bold exterior features, the Racemo+ comes with a more enhanced look with aggressive styling and sporty body kits and spoiler.
5. Both the Racemo and Racemo+ come with a well-designed cabin that exudes sportiness. The 2-seater cabin comes with race seats in black leather and red stitching (grey stitching in the Racemo+) along with a flat-bottom steering wheel with dedicated controls. The prototype model also came with three screens behind the steering wheel displaying the vehicle's stats, navigation, speedometer and Odometer along with some other details.

The Tamo Racemo gets a 186 bhp 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron aluminium engine
6. The Racemo and the Racemo+ come powered by Tata's newly developed 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron aluminium engine. Power output is 186 bhp and it develops 210 Nm of peak torque. Tata says the Racemo will go from 0 to 100 kmph in less than 6 seconds. The engine comes mated to 6-speed AMT gearbox.
7. The Tamo Racemo will also be technologically sound thanks to Tata Motor's recent association with Microsoft. Tata Motors will leverage Microsoft's connected vehicle technologies to bring together artificial intelligence (AI), advanced machine learning, and the Internet of Things (IoT) capabilities on the global hyper-scale Azure cloud. And the first vehicle to take advantage of this technology is the Racemo.
8. Apart from the street car and track car, TAMO will also introduce a virtual version that's being introduced in Microsoft's Forza Horizon 3 game - the first Indian car on the Forza gaming platform, and a digital reality experiential plan to introduce the car to non-owners.
