Tata Safari Storme Gets New Variant; Priced at Rs. 13.52 Lakh

Tata Safari Storme has received a more powerful variant, VariCOR 400. Priced at Rs. 13.52 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Tata Safari Storme VariCOR 400 is being offered only in the top-end trim, VX, in the SUV's line-up. Other than the 2.2-litre VariCOR 400 diesel engine, new gearbox, and VariCOR 400 badging, Tata Motors has made no changes to the car.
One must note, the engine powering the Tata Safari Storme's new variant is the same as the one that also does duty on the existing Storme SUV albeit in a different state of tune. Mated to a new 6-speed manual gearbox, the motor now develops 154bhp and 400Nm, which is an increase of 7bhp and 80Nm, respectively, over the existing Tata Safari Storme's performance figures.

With that being said, the new 6-speed manual gearbox and all-wheel drive with electronic shift-on-the-fly will also be available only on the Tata Safari Storme VariCOR 400; the other variants will continue to come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Since the new variant gets no other changes, it will also get the VX trim's features, such as projector head-lamps, infotainment system by Harman, electrically foldable & heated ORVMs, dual airbags, etc.
