The Tata Tigor is all set to be launched in India and you can read all about its features and variants here. The company had launched the new Tiago hatchback last year and the Tigor is a sub 4-meter subcompact sedan that has been derived from the Tiago itself. The Tigor is Tata's third subcompact sedan after the Indigo eCS and the Zest. With the Tiago doing really well for Tata, the company has its hopes pinned on the Tigor and our first impression of it was good, too. The Tigor will go up against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze and the Hyundai Xcent but is expected to be cheaper than the competition thereby starting what could be a new 'entry level subcompact sedan' segment. We expect the Tigor to start somewhere around the Rs 4.0 lakh price point for the petrol variant and about Rs 4.75 lakh price point for the diesel variant. (Tata Tigor)The Tigor gets the same engine as on the Tiago, which are a 1.2 litre petrol engine and a 1.05 Litre diesel engine. The petrol engine churns out 84 bhp and 114 Nm while the diesel engine makes 69 bhp and 140 Nm. The diesel engine on the Tigor is the least powerful amongst the competition, which includes the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Ford Aspire, Hyundai Xcent and the Volkswagen Ameo. We are also hopeful that Tata will offer an AMT variant of the Tigor as it does in the Tiago. Tata hasn't revealed the fuel efficiency figures of the Tigor, officially.
