Toyota Confirms Four-Year Long Waiting Period For The New Land Cruiser LC300

- The new-gen Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 made its global debut in 2021.
- The new SUV was well-received in Japan and other markets.
- There were rumours about a long waiting period since last year.
The 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 is a big step up over its predecessor and consumer lapped it up last year. There were rumours of a four-years long waiting period for the SUV and now the Japanese carmakers has confirmed it by apologising for the delay on its Japanese website. The message read, "Thank you very much for considering and ordering our vehicles. The Land Cruiser has been very well received in Japan and around the world. We sincerely apologize that it will take a long time to deliver the Land Cruiser to you after you place an order. We sincerely apologize for this. If you place an order now, the delivery time may be up to 4 years. We will do our utmost to shorten the delivery time for our customers."

On the inside, the Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 looks all fresh and there is a new dashboard accommodating a standalone infotainment touchscreen.
Now this also reduces the chances of the new Land Cruiser LC300 launching in other markets anytime soon, including it coming to our shores. Ideally, we were expecting the model to arrive in our market in the Q3 of 2022. The delay is primarily due to the ongoing semiconductor crisis which has disrupted production of automobiles across the globe. The Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 too is loaded to the brim with latest features and advanced tech which require semiconductors.

The new 3.5-litre, twin-turbocharged V6 oil-burner is more powerful the outgoing V8 unit.
The 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 is underpinned by the TNGA platform that makes it light on its feet and in-turn more agile and stable when it comes to on-road dynamics. The platform has saved 200 kg from its kerb weight and also helps in making it 10 per cent more efficient when it comes to CO2 emissions. Gone is the huge 5.7-litre V8 engine and comes in the new 3.5-litre, twin-turbocharged V6 oil-burner that is more powerful than the former. It belts out 403 bhp and 650 Nm of peak torque- a whole 30 bhp and 108 Nm more than the outgoing V8. The engine is mated to brand new 10-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox which too makes debut on the new Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 and courtesy its well calibrated gear ratios, this mountain of an SUV can make the 0-100 kmph sprint in just 6.7 seconds which is pretty impressive for it size.
