Toyota Teases Production Version of CH-R Compact SUV

We've seen the design study make its mark at the 2014 Paris Motor Show and it was then that Toyota said that the production version of the car will bow down at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Going by what the concept looks like, the production model will adopt a funky design and this means that the folks at Toyota might be looking to target it at a young audience.

The C-HR will be built on Toyota's new TNGA platform that has also underpinned the latest Prius, which brings us to another aspect of the car. The C-HR could come with a hybrid powertrain and though there will be a bunch of conventional powertrains on offer, we'll wait for Toyota to pour out more information.

The car will make its debut in the European markets this year and Toyota plans to introduce the C-HR in other markets too. The main question in our mind then is will it come to India? We sure hope so. Toyota has been toying with the idea of adding a compact SUV to its line-up and there have been rumours that the Rush will make its mark here.

The CH-R measures 4400mm in length, 1785mm in width and 1560mm in height which makes it as spacious as Renault Duster and Hyundai Creta, so even Toyota might want to take a fresh view on bringing this car to India. The CH-R looks aggressive and the teaser does show that the production version retains these aggressive lines. We can't wait to see the production version when it hits the floor in Geneva.
