Straight out of a sci-fi movie set, there's a very real chance of the Tesla Cybertruck arriving in India once the company begins operations
Tesla Cybertruck
Easily one of the most awaited electric offerings globally, the Tesla Cybertruck seems to have been pulled out of a science fiction movie and is every bit intimidating. The electric pick-up was first showcased in 2019 and the model aims to challenge the dominance of the Ford F-150 pick-up, which is also going electric. The first, lowest-range version with a range of over 400 km will likely start from around $40,000 in the US. With Tesla planning to begin operations in India soon, we do hope to see the Cybertruck coming here at the earliest.

Unlike the Cybertruck, the Rivian R1T looks more conventional and also spawns an SUV by the name R1S
Rivian R1T
American electric vehicle start-up Rivian is taking a step closer to challenge Tesla's dominance. The automaker unveiled the Rivian R1T pick-up EV truck to fight the Cybertruck and even the Bollinger offering. The R1T comes standard with all-wheel drive and can tow up to 5000 kg. It also gets an adjustable air suspension, Level 3 autonomous-driving capabilities and three battery packs - available in 105, 135, and 180 kWh capacities. These offer ranges of 370 km, 483 km, and 644 km on a single charge. Rivian claims the R1T with the 180 kWh battery can sprint from 0-100 kmph in flat 3 seconds. The R1T is set to arrive later this year, and the platform will also spawn the R1S with the same underpinnings that will go on sale in 2022.

The GMC Hummer EV packs about 11,592 Nm of peak torque and gets the four-wheel-steering crab walk mode
GMC Hummer EV
An iconic nameplate, the GMC Hummer EV made its debut last year reviving a name that was synonymous with massive and guzzling. Only this time, an electric powertrain makes this SUV more eco-friendly than its predecessor ever was. The Hummer EV will arrive as a pick-up and an SUV - and will be offered with a one-, two-, and three-motor setup. The model promises about 1000 horses and an insane 11,592 Nm of peak torque. GMC announced the model will come with removable roof panels, a four-wheel drive, and a four-wheel-steering crab walk mode. The automaker plans to start deliveries of the offering sometime in 2022.

The Lucid Air made its debut last year while the production version is some time away
Lucid Air
Founded in 2007, Lucid Motors started off as a battery-technology company, but later announced it will build a Tesla-rivalling four-door electric sedan in 2016. The company received a $1 billion investment recently and broke ground on its future assembly plant in Casa Grande, Arizona. The upcoming Lucid Air, the company's first-ever car promises about 473 bhp from its electric motors and a range of 653 km on a single charge. The Lucid Air will also get over-the-air updates and autonomous driving technology right from its base model. The company announced a starting price of $77,400 with production to begin later this year in the US.

The Rimac Nevera electric hypercar can sprint from 0-300 kmph in 9.3 seconds with a top speed of 412 kmph
Rimac Nevera
Croatian carmaker Rimac unveiled the Nevera electric hypercar earlier this year and the model stays true to the C_Two Concept. The Rimac Nevera promises some jaw-dropping figures with its quad-motor set-up producing about 1914 horses and 2369 Nm of peak torque. The two-door electric hypercar can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 1.85 seconds and 0-300 kmph in 9.3 seconds. The top speed is a whopping 412 kmph. It also does the quarter-mile run in just 8.6sec. Along with these figures, the Nevera gets a fairly usable range of 547 km on a single charge. The model is underpinned by a carbon structure that is also the largest single piece of carbon fibre in the automotive world and weighs 200 kg.
