Hyundai Shows Off Genesis Safety Tech in 'Empty Car Convoy' Video

We've seen live demos of the latest technology on cars. Everybody from Volvo to Google, with their autonomous car, have relied on live demos to prove a point to other car manufacturers and also the customers they seek approval from.
Hyundai thought about things differently, and tasked a team of stunt drivers to help demonstrate the automated safety features on the 2015 Genesis sedan. The company has put together a promotional video which shows six sedans piloted by different drivers as they travel around Hyundai's Mojave Desert test track.
Looking at the video one realizes how much faith renowned stuntman Buddy Joe Hooker and the other drivers have in the technology of the Genesis sedan. Five of the six drivers are seen, in this video, taking turns getting out of the car by crawling out of the sunroof after engaging the adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and lane-holding systems. Hooker stays in the lead car, blindfolded and with arms folded, as the truck proceeds to the front of the mostly-driverless convoy.
Now you would think Hyundai would leave to that as the audience seems already impressed but then they decide to do a brake test. So the truck leads the pack and hits its brakes to initiate a chain reaction of automatic braking.
Of course it works. The video might be just a marketing stunt for the Genesis, but it clearly demonstrates the technology which makes the car quite a safe bet.
