Nissan India confirmed that it will pass on the full benefit of the recent cuts to vehicle excise duty, announced in the interim Union budget, to its customers.
The price reduction by Nissan is in the range of 4 - 6% and we will see a reduction in the price of the Micra Active, Micra, Sunny, Evalia, Terrano and Teana. The new prices will be effective from February 18, 2014.
Announcing the new prices, Mr. Kenichiro Yomura, President, Nissan India Operations said, "The reduction in excise duty is a welcome move towards revival of the Indian automobile industry. We at Nissan are happy to pass 100% of the tax benefits to our customers. We are confident this will make our products more accessible and drive growth across the range."
This might be a temporary cut, but the manufacturers as well as the customers will be happy with the reduction in prices.
