5. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R (Up to 25.19 kmpl)
The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R ranks fifth among the most fuel-efficient petrol cars currently on sale in India. It comes with two engine choices: a 1.0-litre and a 1.2-litre petrol unit, both available with manual and AMT options. The most efficient setup is the 1.0-litre engine paired with AMT, which delivers a claimed 25.19 kmpl, while the 1.2-litre AMT variant offers a claimed 24.43 kmpl. Prices for the Wagon R start at Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

4. Maruti Suzuki S-Presso (Up to 25.30 kmpl)
The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is another entry-level model known for its fuel efficiency. Powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine, the version equipped with AMT delivers a claimed mileage of up to 25.30 kmpl. Meanwhile, the manual variant returns an ARAI-certified efficiency of up to 24.12 kmpl. Prices for the S-Presso start at Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

3. Maruti Suzuki Dzire (Up to 25.71 kmpl)
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire mirrors its hatchback sibling’s efficiency quite closely ,offering up to 24.79 kmpl (manual) and 25.71 kmpl (AMT) for petrol variants. The Dzire is equipped with the same 1.2-litre engine, and transmission options remain the same as well. The Dzire is priced from Rs 6.26 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki’s Swift offers an efficiency of 25.75 kmpl in its AMT guise, as per ARAI data. The hatchback comes with a 1.2-litre petrol engine with an option of a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. Opting for the manual, it is claimed to deliver a maximum 24.80 kmpl efficiency. The Swift is priced from Rs 5.79 lakh (ex-showroom).

It is powered by a 1.0-litre engine paired with either a manual or AMT gearbox. The pure-petrol manual derivatives provide an ARAI efficiency of up to 25.24 kmpl. Prices for the Celerio start at Rs 4.70 lakh (ex-showroom).
