2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS Facelift Revealed

It was only a couple of days back that Mercedes-Benz teased the 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class facelift, and now the wraps are off it. It is reported that both, the four-door coupe and Shooting Brake versions of the facelift, will make an official debut at the Goodwood Festival at the end of this month.
In terms of changes to its exteriors, the facelifted CLS will now get a fresh front section, which will feature a new diamond radiator grille, revised front bumper with large air intakes, a new splitter and the optional Multibeam LED headlamps. Moving on to the rear, the tail-lamps are new with multi-level function, while the bumper gets vertical vents.
As far as interiors are concerned, there is a new free-standing 8-inch display and a refurbished 3-spoke sports steering wheel. Other revisions to its interiors are mostly functional. Furthermore, the new CLS-Class will now be offered with five interior colours, six trim finishes along with various grades of leather.

Most importantly, it will now add a new variant to the lineup - the CLS 220 BlueTEC with a 2.1-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that delivers 168bhp and 400Nm. The other diesel units include a four-cylinder unit that puts out 201bhp and 500Nm and a V6 that churns out 255bhp and 620Nm.
The petrol lineup also gets a new entrant - the 3.5-litre V6 turbocharged petrol, which replaces the naturally-aspirated CLS 350 CGI, and produces 328bhp and 480 Nm @ 1,200 - 4,000 rpm. The other petrol motor in the range is the V8 in the CLS500 that offers 402bhp and 600Nm.
Four out of these five engine options will come mated to 9G-Tronic, the world's first 9-speed automatic transmission with hydrodynamic torque converter in the premium segment. The CLS 400 is expected to get the 7G dual clutch transmission.
