Anindith Reddy, Chittesh Mandody Seal Title In 2017 JK Tyre NRC Finals

It was a power packed Sunday at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) as the final round of the 20th JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship was underway. Bringing an end to the exciting season, Hyderabad boy Anindith Reddy was crowned the champion in the Euro JK 2017 series while Chittesh Mandody of Kolhapur won the title in the LGB 4 series. Having the lead right from the first round, Chennai's Joseph Mathew secured the title in the Suzuki Gixxer Cup.

Anindith Reddy won both the races on Saturday and was equally dominant on Sunday. The first race on Sunday saw Reddy finish with a 4 second lead, while the last race of the season saw the Hyderabad lad finish with a gap of 10 seconds, ahead f rivals Nayan Chatterjee and Vishnu Prasad. Chatterjee, on the other hand, finished on P2 in both races on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Vishnu, who had a promising start to the season had a forgettable weekend at BIC. Nevertheless, he managed to finish second overall in the championship behind Reddy.
Speaking on clinching the championship win, Anindith Reddy said, "It was a fantastic season. The first round slowly and it became really exciting by the second. This weekend has been amazing and I am glad to win the title once again."

In the LGB Formula 4 category, Sandeep Kumar of Dark Don Racing won the race on Sunday while Vishnu Prasad and Diljith took the following places. Season champion Chittesh Mandody did not even finish the race, but has amassed enough points over the years to claim the title.
In the second edition of the Suzuki Gixxer Cup, Joseph Matthew dominated the series without any trouble. Interestingly though, the Chennai racer did not take a podium in the final race of the season and finished fourth. However, he had a lead of 15 points over his closest rival, comfortably taking the championship title. Ahmedabad's Sachin Chaudhary (49) and Aizawl's Malsawmdawnglia Na (43) clinched the second and third places in the championship.
India's Sai Rahil Pillarisetty of Hyderabad claimed the third round of the Asian Cup of Road Racing by completing a fine double on Sunday. The other Indians in fray, Israel Vanlalhruaizela and Lal Nunsanga of Aizawl, were however nudged off the podium. Miu Nakahara and Mei Sakurai displaced them to take the second and third places.

The JK Super Bike 600cc category threw up a minor surprise as Vijay Singh from Jaipur emerged the champion. He had finished second on Saturday but managed to take the top podium as Gurvinder Singh, Race 1 winner, was excluded for a technical infringement.
Anand Nagarajan clinched the second place in the championship by coming second and Aman Ahlawat the third despite finishing fourth.
