Key Highlights

- Aston Martin says that the chassis is sharper than before
- Only 150 models will be made and each would start retailing from £165,000
Only a mere handful of manufacturers make cars as beautiful and as ferocious as Aston Martin does. And with its impeccable motorsport heritage, the British marquee makes sure that all of its cars have a bit of racing DNA in their bloodlines. Enter the Vantage GT8. As if the V8 Vantage already wasn't one of the craziest cars in the Aston Martin line-up, it now gets the GT treatment. The Vantage GT8 is more focussed, weighs less and gets superior aerodynamics than that of its regular cousin. The overall design cues are borrowed from Aston Martin's WEC racecar. Talking about weight saving, the GT8 gets a carbon fibre roof, polycarbonate windscreen at the rear and at the sides along with a titanium exhaust that is mounted centrally. Umm, all of this is optional though. The only standard fitment is the lithium-ion battery. Also, it gets lightweight carbon fibre seats as standard. All of this together saves over 100 kgs. Aston Martin says that the chassis is even sharper than before and is meant to be a scorcher on the track. The bodywork consists of carbon fibre, which makes it lighter and agile and therefore, a thoroughbred track monster. Not to desist road-going users from buying the car, the GT8 also gets air-conditioning and the latest AMi III infotainment system coupled with a 160 watt audio system.
Under that gorgeous V-shaped hood lies a 4.7-litre V8 engine that pumps out 446PS. Power is delivered to the wheels via a 7-speed Sportshift II transmission unit. The GT8 Vantage is shod with magnesium alloy wheels wearing Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubbers. Only 150 models will be made and each would start retailing from £165,000 for the very basic model and then the prices will go on depending on what all you add from the list of optional equipment.
