Audi Likely To Launch New-Gen A5 And S5 Sportback In India

- Currently, only the first-generation S5 Sportback is sold in India
- Both cars are based on the company's MLB platform
- Audi will most likely launch both the cars together by mid- or late 2017
Both the models are yet to make their first public appearance, which will happen at the upcoming Paris Motor Show, early next month. Their arrival in the country even before their global debut indicates that Audi India plans to launch the cars as soon as possible. In fact, a few months back, we even spotted the new A5 Sportback in India, which was imported for testing purpose. While we have yet to confirm this from the company, Audi will most likely launch both cars together, by mid- or late-2017.

Both the new A5 and S5 coming that have come to India are the four-door versions and comes with similar styling and features. While globally the S5 Sportback comes in a two-door version as well, launching that variant in India might eat up the sales of the Audi TT, which is priced very similarly. Based on the company's MLB platform, the new-gen models come with a slightly longer wheelbase and more dynamic styling. Some of the key changes made to the cars' exterior profile include - short overhangs, wraparound domed hood with muscular creases, and a new single-frame grille. The cars also come with Audi's signature Matrix LED headlamps and a sporty front bumper that house the large air intakes and the small round fog lamps.

The system also includes features like a 10 GB of internal flash storage, a DVD drive, Audi connect services free of charge for three years, up to five free navigation updates. Available safety tech includes lane keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, parking assistance, rear cross traffic alert, automated emergency braking, and road sign recognition.
