Auto Sales April 2022: Honda Cars India Records 13.20 Per Cent Sales Decline In The Domestic Market

- Honda Cars India has sold 7,874 units in April 2022.
- It exported 2042 units in the same month.
- It registered a sales decline of 13.20 per cent in the domestic market.
Honda Cars India has sold 7,874 units in April 2022 in the domestic market, registering a sales decline of 13.20 per cent when compared to 9,072 units sold in the same month last year. That said, the Japanese carmaker registered more than twofold growth in exports shipping out 2042 units in April 2022 as compared to 970 units exported in the same month last year. The company has said that the dip in sales is primarily attributed to the semiconductor shortage in our country while customer sentiments continue to show improvement and positivity.

Sharing thoughts on the April 2022 sales performance, Yuichi Murata, Director, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd said, "The customer sentiment continues to show improvement and positivity, which is reflected in strong demand. However, the supply chain issues remain a challenge for the industry which is impacting the ability to meet the growing demand. We are hopeful that the situation improves sooner than later, so that the demand - supply equation can be more balanced."

Honda Cars India has commenced production of the City e:HEV hybrid sedan.
Honda Cars India is all set to launch the new City e:HEV hybrid sedan in India on May 4 and which is expected to improve its sales going forward, along with attracting more market share in the compact sedan segment. The Honda City e:HEV features the same 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine which is coupled with a hybrid system.
