Auto Sales June 2022: Kia Records Highest Ever Monthly & Half Yearly Sales

Kia India announced that it recorded highest ever monthly sales in June 2022. The Korean carmaker sold 24,024 units in India in June 2022 reporting a 60 per cent year-over-year growth, as it sold just 15,015 units in June 2021. Seltos led the way in sales once again, as Kia managed to sell 8,388 units of the compact SUV. Following that was the Carens MPV with 7,895 units sold, and Sonet subcompact SUV with 7,455 units sold. Kia also managed to sell 285 units of the Carnival MPV.
Commenting on the performance, Hardeep Singh Brar, Vice President & Head of Sales and Marketing, Kia India said, "Despite the global supply chain constraints, we are still managing to achieve milestones in record time. This wouldn't have been possible without our customers' trust in the brand." He further added, "We are well aware of the growing waiting period on our models but we are taking adequate measures to optimise the production and deliver to our customers at the earliest possible."
Kia also recorded a 26 per cent year-over-year growth in domestic sales in the first half of calendar year 2022, as it sold 1,21,808 units in H1 2022. Of these, 48,320 units were of the Seltos, and Sonet followed it by 40,687 units. Kia also sold 30,953 units of the Carens since its launch on February 15, 2022. Kia also launched the EV6 electric crossover in India earlier this month, but Kia India has said that it will be importing only 100 units of the EV6 this year, all of which are sold out, and deliveries for that begin in September.
