Bajaj Dominar 400, the long awaited premium cruiser motorcycle from the home-grown two-wheeler manufacturer is finally set to be launched in India on 15th December. Bajaj Auto today released the first official teaser image of the bike, which will become the bike maker's flagship offering in India. And here's everything you need to know about the company's most powerful motorcycle yet.

Confirming the launch, Bajaj Auto, President (Motorcycle Business), Eric Vas said, "We are delighted to announce the name of the most anticipated brand from the Bajaj Auto stable. The Dominar 400 has already created lot of excitement amongst bikers, which is befitting for what's going to be one of the most path breaking products in the history of the Indian motorcycle industry."

The Bajaj Dominar 400 is a cruiser-sport motorcycle targeted at the ones who seek power with touring comfort. and derives its name from Spanish, where it means "to excel or exceed in power". With its fastest bike, the Pune based two wheeler giant plans to excel in the sub Rs. 2 lakh price bracket with its latest offering. The model will be locking horns with the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Mahindra Mojo, KTM Duke 200 and the likes in the segment.
The model commenced production at the Chakan facility on November 18 at an all-women assembly line. While Bajaj is yet to confirm, power on the Dominar 400 is expected to come from a 373.2cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, tuned to produce around 34bhp of power.

The motor is paired to a 6-speed gearbox and comes with telescopic front forks as well as a monoshock rear setup; while braking performance will come from disc brakes and optional ABS. It's been a long road for Bajaj to bring the Dominar 400 to reality. The model started life as the Pulsar Cruiser Sport 400 (CS 400) at the 2014 Auto Expo and it was only this year that the company had a change of heart and decided to establish an all-new brand for its premium offering. It was then that the monikers - Vantage Sport 400 (VS 400), Kratos 400 and Dominar were speculated.
