In terms of adult occupant protection, the Dzire offers between marginal to good levels of protection to occupants in the frontal offset, movable side impact and side pole impact testing. The subcompact sedan scored 14.17 out of a possible 16 points for the frontal offset barrier impact test, dropping points due to offering marginal protection to the driver’s chest. Side deformable barrier impact testing received a higher 15.29 points out of 16.

Maruti Suzuki has upped its safety game with the Dzire, with the sedan arriving with a host of passive safety systems as standard. All variants, including those for fleet markets, are offered with six airbags as standard along with electronic stability control, ISOFIX child seat anchors, three-point seatbelts for all five passengers, anti-lock brakes, a seat belt reminder system and rear parking sensors. The carmaker has also gradually been upgrading its line-up of cars with additional safety features with even models such as the Alto, Wagon R and Eeco now featuring six airbags as standard.
