BMW 5 Series Petrol Variant Launched in India; Prices Start at Rs 54 lakh

- BMW 520i sedan comes in an exclusive 'Luxury Line' design scheme

BMW has launched the petrol variant of the 5 Series in India priced at Rs. 54 Lakh (ex-showroom, Pan India). With the addition of the new BMW 520i, customers now have an option to go for either a petrol or a diesel variant of the popular 5 Series sedan across all BMW dealerships in India. BMW has imported the 520i to India as a completely built up (CBU) unit and is available in an exclusive ‘Luxury Line’ design scheme.
Design-wise there are not changes in the car compared to the diesel variant. The car gets same dual beam projector headlamps, the signature kidney grille, and a sleek front bumper that hoses the air dam, air intakes and the round fog lamps. Same goes for the rear section as well which continues to come with the sharp LED tail lamps, large bumper and dual chrome tipped tail pipes. The car also gets a set of sporty 18-inch alloy wheels. The BMW 520i is available in three stylish colour options – Alpine White (non-metallic), Black Sapphire and Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect (both metallic) along with a number of interior trim options as well.
While the interior design also remains the same, but customer do have the options to choose from three different upholstery colours - Dakota Cinnamon Brown, Black, Dakota Veneto Beige and Dakota Oyster with exclusive black stitching. Other features include - ambient light with selectable mood lights, electrical glass sunroof, multi-functional steering wheel wrapped in sport leather, electrically adjustable driver and passenger seat, wooden panels, and floor mats in velour among others.
Some other gizmos and electronics that you get with the new BMW 520i include – cruise control, Bluetooth with audio streaming, handsfree and USB connectivity, Harman Kardon surround sound system, iDrive touch with handwriting recognition including 25.9 cm colour display, rear view camera and park distance control. Under the hood the new BMW 520i is powered by a 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine that churns out 181bhp and a peak torque of 270Nm. The engine comes mated to BMW’s 8-Speed Steptronic Automatic Transmission that propels the car from 0-100 kmph in 7.9 seconds.
