BMW Motorrad Reveals Specifications Of The HP4 Race

- The BMW HP4 Race gets an in-line 4 engine displacing 999 cc
- The engine makes 212 bhp of max power and 120 Nm of peak torque
- Only 750 units of the HP4 Race will be manufactured in total
The HP4 Race was first showcased at EICMA 2016 and was touted to be one of the absolute best and most exclusive motorcycle that will be coming out of the stables of BMW Motorrad. With a claimed power output of 212 bhp and a weight of merely 171 kg with all the fluids, makes for an insane power-to-weight ratio. Not only that, it is the only superbike in the world which makes use of a carbon-fibre main frame and carbon-fibre wheels, making it even lighter than the factory racing superbikes in the Superbike World Championship. The main frame itself weighs just 7.8 kg. The carbon-fibre wheels too are lighter by almost 30 per cent in comparison to wheels made of lightweight alloys. The HP4 Race was earlier spotted testing in Spain as well.
(BMW HP4 Race)BMW Motorrad engineers have specified the HP4 Race with top-of-the-line parts such as FGR 200 USD forks, TTX 36 GP spring strut, Brembo GP4 PR monobloc brake callipers, Titanium pistons, single-piece aluminium callipers with nickel-plating and so on. All these parts are used in the Superbike World Championship and the Moto GP as well.
(BMW HP4 Race)The HP4 Race gets a 999 cc, in-line 4 engine which belts out a massive 212 bhp at 13,900 rpm. The peak torque output is 120 Nm at 10,000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed close ratio race-spec gearbox. As is the case with all BMW Motorrad products, the HP44 Race is equipped with top-shelf package of electronics with a variety of options for setting up the motorcycle. Electronics such as traction control, engine brake control and wheelie control can be programmed for each gear (whoa!). Fun fact! The HP4 Race also comes equipped with a Pit Lane Limiter, which restricts speeds once you enter the pit lane from the racetrack. Also, you can store and transfer all the data from your run on the racetrack with the help of a 2D logger.
(BMW HP4 Race)BMW Motorrad will keep the manufacturing of the HP4 Race limited to only 750 units worldwide and each motorcycle will be hand-built. The pricing hasn't been announced, but you can be rest assured that the HP4 Race will cost an atom bomb!
